Christmas 2008

It was so nice to get to go back to Kansas for 2 whole weeks this year. I missed Joe a lot but I still managed to have a fun relaxing time with my family. Joe had an excellent trip fishing and skiing. He drove from San Diego to The Grand Canyon and all the way to Steamboat Springs, CO. He was fishing the whole way there and then he got to ski for 8 days, he loved every second!

here is a link to his fishing post about his trip, it's a good read!

Christmas morning at our house, we decided to make it easy and skip the presents this year. We'll call it the "Recession Christmas" ha ha.
Mom and Papa did get each other something:

Alexis had a housewarming/Christmas party, it was a lot of fun!

Me and my friend Kristi, her first baby is due April 20th--so exciting!

I.D. Russell

Our close family friend, I.D. Russell, passed away on December 18th after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was like a part of our family. He lived part of the year at our house during hunting season to go out with Papa every morning. It was so nice to have him around for many months a year my entire life. We are especially grateful for the recent times we were able to have with him in the past few years.

We had a great time with him at Isaiah's wedding last September.

I.D. and Alexis share the same birthday, November 22nd. I am so happy that I went home to surprise everybody and we were able to have a wonderful birthday dinner for I.D. and Alexis.

And some great old pictures of all of us years ago....

We love you and miss you I.D.
