Joe's 30th surprise birthday!

Last weekend I threw Joe a surprise 30th birthday party. It was awesome to see the look on his face, he was definitely not expecting to see 40 people in his backyard! We sort of made it into a going away party too, we had such a blast. Quinn even made it down to visit from San Francisco. He told Joe that he had a training on Saturday so Joe was completely thrown off. It was great!

I just had to embarrass Joe with this picture! He borrowed his friend Jen's sweatshirt. That's a nice look Joe. I love pink!

The night ended with some Bollywood dancing in the living room to practice for our wedding dance!

We are leaving for KC tonight. I cannot wait, I'm so excited for the whole wedding weekend and to see all of our wonderful friends and family. See you all soon!!

We are moving!

That's right! We are headed to Kansas to help my parents at the Cider Mill for the summer/fall. We will save up by living the Kansas lifestyle for a few months. It will be a welcome change from pricey California, even though we will miss it a lot!

After the cider season at the farm we will head to Colorado to settle and we hope to eventually buy a house, i'm crossing my fingers the market stays low a bit longer. Joe will have all the mountains he can climb and rivers he can fish. It should keep him busy for years! I am hoping to get in really good shape climbing mountains with him. :)

In Kansas we will be running the corn maze and pumpkin patch at the Cider Mill. The corn maze is in a 10 acre corn field and the corn stands 10-12' tall! I'm very excited to get out of the desk job for awhile to work outdoors in jeans, sweatshirts & tennys! We'll be joining the world of agritourism, which is getting more popular every year with people staying closer to home and finding less expensive forms of entertainment.

Here's an aerial photo of last year's maze. The theme last year was "Bat Mansion Corn Maze" since Batman was huge. The maze is created with a high tech GPS system and advanced corn field cutting techniques. Pretty amazing! I think I could definitely get lost in there.

This year it will be "Vampires of the Corn" since vampires are all the rage this year with Twilight and True Blood. Kimmy, you know! I just finished the first Twilight book and watched the movie and I'm obsessed! I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

I know the weather will be an adjustment but I am really excited to go back to having 4 seasons! Especially fall! I can already imagine the smell of the crisp autumn air. We'll have to break out all of our old winter gear.

We will miss all the great friends we have met here in California, come visit us! You will always have a place to stay in Colorado.

If you want to come visit us this fall this is where we'll be 7 days a week! www.louisburgcidermill.com
