Surprise Bridal Shower!

My great friends Shannon and Jen threw me a surprise bridal shower last weekend. It was so much fun, I had never had a surprise party before and it definitely made me feel very special.
They did a "Kansas Girl" theme and everyone dressed up "country" and they even gave me my own cowgirl hat--it was so cute. They decorated with sunflowers since it is the Kansas state flower. We played fun games like, "how well do you know your man" and I'm proud to say I got most questions right, they said I passed the test.

Fishing in the Ozarks & Kansas wedding planning

Last month we got to go hang out with my whole family in the Ozarks. It was so fun, I love spending time with my family :) I even got to go fly fishing with my 2 favorites guys, Joe and Papa.

It is appropriate that Papa caught a much bigger fish than I did, I wouldn't want to show him up!

We rented a nice cabin by the Niangua River--it was really pretty

My friend Kristi's baby came early just in time for our visit, I think he knew we were coming and wanted to meet us!

Here is August Percy Herron, the most adorable bundle of joy ever!

We loved hanging out with Auggie so much! He's so tiny...

We also spent some time figuring out last minute wedding details. Here we are at the park, already so green in april!

New Orleans

Last month I went to New Orleans with my sisters and some of my best friends to celebrate my bachelorette party! My friend Lauren is getting married in August so we decided to combine our parties and had a co-bachelorette party, we had a great time. I love all of the beautiful architecture in the city. We stayed in The French Quarter, it was so nice to have so many restaurants and places to see music within walking distance. Lauren volunteered rebuilding houses at our friend's organization called The St. Bernard Project, she said it was an amazing experience. Here is their website:

There was live music everywhere, it was awesome!
