Labor Day

For Labor Day we went to Rudy & Larry's farm, "The Red Barn Green Farm". It is so beautiful out there. We had such a fun day!

They have a swing hanging from a tree that goes so high (especially when joe is pushing you)! It's kind of scary and really fun!

The pumpkins are big this year!

We have been working hard to get the corn maze and pumpkin patch ready for next weekend's opening. The corn is so tall, about 9'! And the pumpkins are huge! My dad says this is the best pumpkin crop we have ever had. Awesome!

KU Game

Last Saturday we went to my college town, Lawrence, to watch the KU game. Lilli's boyfriend, Erik, just moved there to go to KU for Law School. We tailgated and went to the game, the weather was perfect. It's starting to feel like fall! yay!

Royals Game

Yesterday we went to the Royals game with Adam, Kristi and Auggie. Auggie was the cutest little baby there. Krisit got him a Royals hat, adorable! The stadium was recently remodeled, it looks great!

Louisburg Labor Day Parade

For Labor Day Joe and I rode in the Louisburg Labor Day Parade with Mom & Papa. We decorated the hay wagon with straw bales, corn stalks, indian corn, pumpkins and my lady scarecrow. I named her Lucy, now I just have to make her a mate. I have been loving the crafty part of being a manager of fun. I didn't think I was very crafty but it has been a lot of fun, I really enjoy it. We have been painting a lot of signs for the patch and maze; I found out the Joe is a really good artist. He is also more of a perfectionist than I realized. A lot more than me, it's a good balance ;)

The parade was great, we passed out candy corns and a bunch of flyers. Hopefully a lot of people want to come to the maze!!

Roots Fest!

Last weekend was the Roots Festival in Paola. It is a blues music festival and bbq contest, it's tons of fun! It's surprising to me that Paola is able to get such great musicians being such a tiny town. Last year we had Johnny Lang (who I love!) this year we discovered an awesome band called, Trampled Under Foot, they're amazing! It's 3 siblings, a sister and 2 brothers. We actually liked them so much that we saw them tuesday night at a blues place in KC.

Derek even made it down from Iowa City. He and Joe had some friendly competition on a few games.
