Kansas - pumpkin patch set up!

We have decided to run the pumpkin patch again this year! Mostly me because Joe will be focusing on his wonderful new job! One thing I love most about my job is the flexibility, I am going to continue to work here in Colorado but basically become part time for 6 weeks--it is so nice having that sort of flexibility!
I'm excited to run the pumpkin patch again, it's really fun working outdoors especially at the beautiful fall time of year!! I wouldn't want to do it now--it is so hot and humid right now you can barely breathe! the air is so thick!
Joe got into full Farmer Joe work mode as soon as he got to the Cider Mill--go Joe!
Here is is with a backpack of a bleach water mixture so he can clean out the "learning barn" and the shed that I left a bunch of corn in last season--ooops! mice have taken over, don't worry they are gone now but they have left a nice mess--thank you Joe!
We got to go up in the little plane with Gene Linder again to get an aerial shot of the maze--tons of fun!! I knew Joe would love it and want his pilot's license even more!!
The theme this year...........Werewolf of the Corn!!! (for all of you Jacob fans!)
Just so you can see how really hard it is to catch a good photo of the maze---omg, it took me about 25 tries before I got it. It's so cool, Gene takes the door off the plane so I can stick my hand out to get the shot but then the plane/wind shakes it so much that it is blurry. thank goodness after I made him go over the maze the 9th time I got the shot above that is good enough for the tickets and flyers we are using it for.
Joe and Gene--what a great guys!
Then we went to visit Auggie & Kristi--of course I had to get many photos--I'm going to be insane when it's my own kid!

We visited Rudy & Larry's farm, the "Red Barn Green Farm" It is so awesome and really coming together. They are starting a new company with spa products like lavender soap and lotions. They grow the lavender on the property, it smells so wonderful!!
They are in the process of renovating the whole barn--it's amazing!
an old wives tale says you are supposed to eat a slice of your wedding cake on your one year anniversary for good luck--we didn't make it on our anniv date but I figure it is even more good luck now that it is almost a year and 2 months! We all had a slice and it was surprisingly delicious!!

Lilli & Erik's visit

Lill & Erik came to town for their friend's wedding so we got to hang out with them and go tubing down the Clear Creek river in Golden--tons of fun! The only bummer of the day was that Joe lost his wedding band in the river-darn it! oh well, I got him a cheap replacement for now ;)
It was a fun day!
