Joe's Canada trip

Joe will post more later (or i'll link to his fishing post since I think he likes writing there more than here--i'm sure it will be much more fishing related ;)

Joe went to Canada with my dad for the annual Canada fishing trip-(it's been going for probably 20 yrs now)

I think it was a shock to Joe how opposite the trip is from the lightweight backpacking he does. These guys take along about a ton of stuff! including a turkey and a fryer! crazy! It looks like they had a great time here are some highlights...

Our 1st Anniversary trip to Mt Princeton Hot Springs

For our 1st wedding anniversary we went to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, we had a wonderful time and even fit in a visit to Joe's alma mater, Colorado College.
Another beautiful view of the mountains--have I posted too many of those yet??! It's just everywhere I look so it's hard not to take a million mountain shots. waaay better in person too ;)
The resort was hosting a wedding that day, very beautiful. We watched from afar and it made our anniv. even more romantic.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant--free dessert!
Frontier Wine--since we are in the great frontier!
Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of the hot springs! I was too busy relaxing... ;) The river was rushing so much from spring run off that the natural springs were closed. It was insane, you could hear the water rushing and moving huge heavy boulders. I think it would've been deadly to try to take a dip in it.
We still enjoyed the many man made pools that are filled with the springs water-invigorating! We also went down the waterslide buit into the side of the hill--I love those kind! I think we were the only adults going down the slide, I was worried there was an age limit or something when we were standing in line with a bunch of kids. Luckily that was not the case--wheee!
Of course a little fly fishing time for Joe

He caught 3 fish!

A trip down memory lane for Joe--Colorada College.
He lived here his Senior year with his 5 best buds

He lived here Sophomore Year
Joe spent hours here during college playing hockey, here he is reminiscing....
Looks like Falcor from Neverending Story!
Joe's new school, The Academy. So beautiful!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend Quinn came to town and we went hiking & camping. We went to Fern Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a beautiful hike with great views all around. We hiked to about 10,000 feet and camped near the lake. There was quite a bit of snow but luckily we found a dry spot to camp on--thank goodness! It was still only about 30 degrees at night but fortunately Joe warned me to pack a lot of layers so I wasn't cold at all ;)
