Project: Nightstands!

For a long time I have wanted yellow nightstands. I guess I just love the cheery color. I can never find what I'm picturing so I decided to create them myself!
I got these cool carved nightstands from craigslist for $10 each!

I have always pictured the combination of turquoise lamps and yellow nightstands, remember my lamp project?

I got these babies for $2.50 each-yay!

After a little bit of paint, my new cheery yellow nightstands!

All together, I love how it turned out!

Happy Easter Weekend!

At the Cider Mill they did the annual Easter Egg hung,
this cute little guy found the lucky $100 egg!
Here in Colorado we made banana french toast--yummy!!

Then we went on a hike up to Button Rock Dam.
It's so nice having beautiful places to walk close to home.

We spotted this guy rock climbing, he made it to the top!

Button Rock Dam, pretty cool. At the bottom it says there is a time capsule behind this sign that will be opened in 2069, 100 years after the dam was built---awesome! I wonder what's in there.

Snow in March!

I didn't believe it before but it's true, March is the snowiest month in Colorado! It's kind of nice though, it's really not that cold and it melts really fast.
It's supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow-yay! Come on spring!
A winter wonderland!

Thrift store find # 2

I found this cute little table at a thrift store for $2.50. It was a little wobbly and the top was painted a pinkish color. With a little tightening of the screws and some bright yellow paint it's now a whole new table! I love yellow, so bright and cheery.

Auggie's Birthday

This weekend I went to Kansas to go to my friend Kristi's little boy's first birthday. It was great to see everybody, especially the little cutie, Auggie.

Hold on, just a little more cake!

Ok, no more cake!

I think his favorite gift was the ball ;)

The happy family
Big smile

Ready for bed
Hanging out at my parent's house
My parent's cat Rick, Joe and I decided he's such a snob that his name should be spelled Ryq

My new hobby!

I have always wanted to find the time to go to garage sales and thrift stores to find little treasures and furniture that I could refinish. I have finally found the time!

One of my favorite colors is turquoise, for years I have wanted to find turquoise lamps for our bedroom. They are always over my budget so I have never bought any of the lamps that I see online or at stores.

Can you believe this lamp sells for $250!?

This is the look I'm going for with turquoise lamps, I like the bold statement they make.

Well, I decided to make my own perfect turquoise lamps! I found these lamps at a thrift store the other day for $2.50 each--yay!!
A little painters tape to cover the areas that I want to protect

Off to Walmart for a little can of turquoise enamel paint and new lamp shades and voila!!

I like mine even more than the store bought ones!
